My 21st Barbie Themed Birthday Cake!

Hey guys!

If you guys don't know already, my mom is a boss at making super-cute cakes. She's so naturally talented and creative. She started making cakes as a hobby and now she sells some sometimes as a side business.

But anyway, she made me this adorable 21st birthday cake: featuring a drunk Barbie!

How CUTE is that?? I absolutely loved it! She also baked matching cupcakes and they tasted just as good as they looked!

I loved it!!

Japanese Hair Dye Review: Freshlight "Mirror Ash"

Hey guys!

I've decided to dye my bleached hair at home because I learned that bleaching your hair puts little "holes" in your hair, making it prone to breakage and being brittle, and that dying it can "fill" those holes in so I've decided to give that a go! My hair color was ridiculous anyway. I LOOKED LIKE A CLOWN!

So, instructions were pretty basic and simple.Total application time was about 40 minutes give or take (I left it in a few minutes longer to make sure I got the color all the way in). I had my mom help me out!

I give this product a 9 out of 10. The smell wasn't bad at all and in fact, I liked it. It didn't feel like it was doing any damage to my hair and it actually made it really soft and shiny. The only thing I wasn't expecting was that it bleached my roots (the black) part of my hair and it became like a weird red color. It's not that noticeable so it isn't so bad, but I'm now wondering if I should do anything about that. Probably not? But I'm REALLY satisfied with the rest of my hair. It's this strange blonde-but-not-really color with a hint of..green? It's like a dirty blonde with a slight green tint. I guess that's what ash is? Not sure what the mirror in "mirror ash" is supposed to mean though. But this is my new favorite hair color, but as I'm trying to keep my hair healthy hopefully it doesn't fade as fast. I wash my hair once a week so hopefully that'll help keep the color long. Does anyone know another way to keep hair color from fading fast? Would love to hear from you guys.

Thanks for reading!

Thinspo?

Hey everyone!

I used to be a thinspo junky. I used to obsess about my weight so much that I woke up every morning at 5 am (before my dad woke up for work and took over the TV) and checked my weight on my wii fit. One day I woke up around 7 and he would NOT get off the TV so I was not able to check my weight that day. I was upset and I think I actually cried..

But anyway, the sad plot twist to this story is that I went from being obsessed with skinny, I really let myself go. I'm not 200lb or anything, but I'm a lot bigger than my old 100lb self and I just wish I could go back.

In my thinspo craze while I was skinny, I wasn't healthy I don't think. I consumed less than 1000 calories a day and to be more specific, some days I'd consume less than 500 calories. I followed the ABC diet for a while, but then ended up trying to eat as less as possible. I was obsessed.

My goal right now is to go back to that size, or possibly smaller (maybe??) but be healthy at the same time.

I started today. Here's my breakfast!

My mom made it and it was SO GOOD! I love Japanese food.

Well, stay tuned!

Hair Growth Journey

Hair Journey!

So, for about 2 months now I've invested in hair products that I thought was good for my damaged and over-processed hair. About a year ago, I thought it was a good idea to bleach my hair at home..3 TIMES! Yeah, I know. Not the brightest idea..(no pun intended.) I'm almost positive my hair hated me for a while. I cut off about 4 inches of my hair to get most of the damaged part off, but I'm terrified of hair too short so that was all I could do. I did a lot of research online and I've managed to gather up hair advice and tips to come up with a hair routine:

  • Shampoo, condition and deep-condition my hair once a week.
  • Towel dry hair.
  • After, spray a leave-in-conditioner and "seal" that moisture with oil.
  • While hair is still damp with hair products, comb hair with a wide toothed comb to untangle hair.
  • Let hair air-dry. (or blow dry with cold air.)

Following that routine alone REALLY improved my hair. It also helped it grow and retain length. Retaining length is so so SO important in any hair growth journey. What's the point of growing out your hair if your ends break off? Using no heat at all on my hair is what I believed helped out the most. My hair doesn't break off anymore and I'm positive my hair routine has everything to do with it.

Products I use:

  • Shampoo: Mane 'n Tail Original Formula
  • Conditioner: Mane 'n Tail Original Formula
  • Deep Conditioner: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner
  • Leave-In Conditioner: Aussie Hair Insurance
  • Oil: Organix Morrocan Argan Oil
I was also able to achieve longer hair with this routine. I even took before and after pictures to keep myself motivated:

I didn't measure my hair unfortunately so I'm not sure how long it has actually grown but I am really happy with the results.

My ultimate goal is tail-bone length hair, but my mini-goal for now is for my hair to be boob-length by Christmas. Right now, my hair is arm pit length.
